Mom’s Cheese Royale
Prepare the Night Before for a Fast and Decadent Breakfast
This recipe essentially works out to be equal parts bread to cheese if you don’t want to get out a measuring cup!
Ingredients:
7 slices bread
4 tbsp butter (optional)
1/2 lb sharp white cheddar cheese, cubed
2 c milk
3 eggs
Salt and peper, to taste
Preparation:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
2. Butter the bread and remove crusts. Cube. You should have about 4 cups.
3. Place the cubed bread in a large bowl and toss with the cubed cheese and put the mixture into a 6 cup soufflé dish.
4. Crack the eggs into a blender and add the milk. Season with salt and pepper and whiz for 30 seconds. Slowly pour over the bread and cheese.
5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night.
6. Remove from refrigerator and bake for 50 min or until golden and puffed.
