Cooking for Me and Sometimes You; A Parisienne Romance with Recipes September, 2010

by Barbara-jo McIntosh

With its linen cover, ragged edged paper, ribbon bookmark and pencil illustrations this book is as much a pleasure to hold, as it is to read. You might be able to guess that the author is also a bookseller. In this charming little book she recounts how she made her dream of spending a month cooking and eating in Paris a reality. How many of us would love to do the same? She falls in love with the City of Lights and a man. She takes us through Paris cobbled streets and we inhale the city with her, delight in its pleasures and learn that no dream has perfect ending. That this book has recipes too, makes it all the more enjoyable.

COOKS HOUSE February, 2010

Well Eric Patterson and Jennifer Blakeslee, the two chefs behind the popular Traverse City bistro Cooks’ House do just that. Now in their first book they celebrate the bounty of the Midwest, and the changing season with a simple uncomplicated recipes. Their book goes further, they share their philosophy of life and food. This cookbook nourishes both the body and soul.

Earth to Table November, 2009

A new book by Jeff Crump and Bettina Schormann

This book is sheer poetry. I am in love with the ideas presented here. The framework of the book forces you to discover, and to contemplate the concept of seasonal, and what each season can offer you. In a world and food industry where the same produce is available year-round, Crump and Schormann eloquently remind us of what matters and how things were meant to be.

The photographer is none other than Edward Pond, a huge talent whose ability to tell stories through visual nuance, enriches the holistic nature of the book.
